ARCHIMEDES

Sunday
let's play and sing
in the Posticum chapel: 10.00 – 16.00
We will restart the program in April 2024!

Those who immerse themselves in the game see more and hear more. (Matthew 18:1-4)

Archimedes, the great inventor, used his knowledge to manufacture weapons, but his death was fateful, a Roman soldier ended his life. “Knowledge must be put at the service of peace,” says Ádám Tempfli, a math teacher from Oradea.

Every Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, we can marvel at the Posticum chapel and discover that there is order in the universe.
All ages, from kindergarteners to retirees, can try magnetic toys. The toy conveys geometric knowledge, helps us see and think. If we are open enough, we will marvel at the divine knowledge in the Posticum chapel, of which we are all a part.

Using geometric knowledge discovered over centuries and millennia, the teacher (unlike Archimedes) makes musical instruments.
The making of guitars, harps, zithers, violins, bass guitars, mandolins, and mandolas was also based on the Archimedes spiral.
The familiar do, re, mi… scale system is not found on these instruments, but harmony is. We can discover how much there is that we do not know, and we can experience that we are all part of a great order and knowledge.

Everyone can play these instruments, regardless of age. Even 4-year-olds can play the 144-stringed clapper harp, the light xylophone, and the harp violin. The teacher is present, but does not teach, providing space for freedom and harmony to develop.
You can lay out all kinds of geometric shapes with the magnetic toy. It helps you see in space, develops thinking and concentration.

We welcome those interested!

Sunday
we play and make music

(Matthew 18:1-4)

Archimede also knew how to use the inventor's knowledge of fabrica arme, mortà sa a fost fatidică, un soldat roman ia pus căuţi vivii. "Cunoaștea trebuie puşa în slujba păcii", spine profesorul de matematică Ádám Tempfli din Oradea.

Every day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Posticum, we can't see that there is order in the universe.
With his geometrical knowledge, he discovered de-alongung secolelor și miilor de ani, profesorul (spre ditto de Archimede) produced instrumente muzicale. I can discover how many things I can discover and experience.

Don't let us see you in space, develop your thinking and concentrate.

Părțile interestate sunt binevenite!

ZEN, ZAZEN, MEDITATION

ZEN, ZAZEN, MEDITATION

Zen is a practice and a tool. Zen is a means of changing our consciousness and our fulfillment. By practicing Zen, we get rid of the confusion of our thoughts, the restlessness, the constant buzz that burdens our consciousness. Although Buddhism preserved this ancient practice in its purest form, Zen is not a religion. Zen is a practical path, a method that transcends all classification.

Victor Pari has been practicing Zen meditation for more than eight years. Member of the One Drop Zen group in Hungary. He arrived at Posticum in 2021 and had an important role, when Imre Rencsik, the founder of the house, reorganized the hospitality with Niklaus Brantschen, a Swiss Jesuit monk, and started the Zen Hostel. Zen Hostel is run by Posticum and the One Drop Zen community. Every day in the morning and in the evening between 7 and 8:30 Viktor leads a Zen meditation in the house. Those interested can contact him in person, and he will give an introduction to beginners.

István "Taikyo" Running is the leader of the Hungarian One Drop Zen Community, and is a student of Zen master Taigen Shodo Harada. Béla Balázs award-winning feature film cameraman and director, previously taught at Budapest Metropolitan University. It was István Szaladják "Taikyo" who brought Zen to the Posticum. Our artistic and spiritual advisor, our friend.

Taigen Shodo Harada Roshi is a Japanese Zen master and the leading master of the international sangha (Zen community) of One Drop Zen. His students have founded many One Drop communities around the world, which are in constant contact with him. Practitioners regularly visit Japan to further deepen their knowledge and experience at the Harada roshi monastery.
Since 2016, the roshi (ie master) has been regularly visiting and holding sesshin (retreats) at the Posticum.
